Responsible Photo-Chemical Waste Recycling
ECS has been a processor of waste photo chemical solutions for nearly 20 years. Today, more than ever, we are acting responsibly in order to preserve our environment. ECS is the developer of the patented Pureflow® silver recovery technology for the environmentally friendly, cost effective recovery of silver from waste photo processing solutions at customer sites. Pureflow is an enhanced metallic replacement technology that eliminates all of the negative features of conventional steel wool columns. Pureflow columns are developer tolerant, last 2-4 times as long, and recover 2-4 times as much silver as conventional columns, and the silver concentration in the discharge from Pureflow® columns averages 0.15 parts per million over the entire life of the columns. If developer is not discharged through the columns, the silver concentration is even lower, typically < 0.02 parts per million. Pureflow columns even dramatically reduce drain maintenance problems caused by the build up of iron hydroxide! Pureflow® columns are available in a number of sizes suitable for facilities as small as 1-hour photo processors, to large regional labs.
Some companies we service find it convenient and cost-effective to have their chemical waste transported to and recycled by ECS. These customers are primarily concerned about compliance issues and rely on ECS' expert handling of the entire regulatory manifesting process. Since the generator of any hazardous waste is responsible for its final disposition and may be asked to verify these activities, ECS can also provide customers with certificates of recycling.
